Project Explorer Projects Tab

The project tab of the Project Explorer window displays information about the various files stored in the currently selected organism. This tab is separated into 4 parts :

Part A
This part groups buttons that are used to navigate the organism. As for the Organism tab, the "Reveal" button pops up an explorer window showing the current selected organism folder. You can edit, rename and delete your files there. Once finished, switch back to ArrayMiner (e.g. close the explorer window) and hit the "Refresh" button. To add a subdirectory to your organism, simply repeat the previous operation and create a directory in the explorer window. Switch back to ArrayMiner, hit the "Refresh" button and the new directory appears in the list in Part B.
If the selected organism includes directories, you can open them by double clicking them in Part B, or clicking the "Explore" button. To go back to the previous directory, click the "Back" button.
The "View ASCII" button, displays the selected file in text mode.
If the file selected in Part B is an ArrayMiner data file type, the "Open" button loads the file into ArrayMiner.

Part B
This part displays the selected organism directory content. As of version 5.2 a new column has been added showing the file notes for amp and amg projects. You can modify project notes by loading the project and choosing the "Project Notes" window.

Part C
This part displays information on the file selected in Part B. The content of this panel depends on the selected file type.

Part D

This part gives you access to more complex operations on your data:

  • "Import Dataset" button : This button will launch the data import window. Note that if a file is selected in the B part, an additional button will appear in the importer, letting you load the selected file into ArrayMiner
  • "Merge Dataset" button : This button invokes the Data Merger window which lets you merge datasets (csv files) present in the current organism. Note that the datasets to be merged must be in the same directory
  • "Filter Dataset" button : This button invokes the Filter window which lets you filter the dataset. This button is only enabled for csv files
  • "Edit Attributes" button : This button invokes the Edit Attribute window which lets you manage the experiment header of your dataset. This button is only enabled for csv files
  • "Exclude Experiments" button : This button invokes the Exclude Experiments window which removes (permanently) experiments from your dataset. This button is only enabled for csv files
