The Edit Position dialog box
As of version 3.0 OptiLine supports operation positions, also called ergonomic constraints. The current setting of the constraints is shown in the bottom using the standard OptiLine representation. It is taken into account as explained here. This dialog box lets you edit the two types of positions OptiLine can handle:
  • Workstation Level Position : To edit this position constraint, select the WS position tab. Depending on your configuration, an image and multiple checkboxes will appear (learn how to define your available positions here). There are up to 3 colors of checkboxes. You can select at most one (possibly none) checkbox in each color. For example in the picture on the left, the operation can be done on any of the red positions, yet in a medium elevation of the car and with the car tilted (the Medium and Yes boxes are checked). The resulting position constraint will be summarized in the bottom part part of the window as three circles. A gray circle means that the value for this particular attribute is "any", as shown in the picture.

  • Operator Level Position : The operator level position must specify as many positional attributes as there are operators (required for the workstation / operation). This means that there are as many Operator tabs as there are operators. In the above example, only one operator is needed, and only one operator tab is available. You need to specify for each operator a set of positions, or leave it blank, which means "any" for each of the positional attributes. The resulting positions will be drawn by means of as many series of three squares as there are operators.

Note that the current version of the OptiLine algorithm only takes into account the first operator-level positional attribute (the red checkboxes).
